Webster City heating and cooling questions
Who runs this site?
The Webster City Iowa HVAC Guide is run by Iowa Trades. We're not an HVAC contractor. We pass your request to a local HVAC company, and they call you.
Who calls me back?
A local HVAC company we pass your request to. We don't do the work, and you decide whether to hire them.
Are calls answered at night?
Yes. Calls to (515) 349-7229 are answered 24/7 by an AI receptionist. That doesn't mean a repair visit any hour. Timing depends on the local company.
Are calls recorded?
Calls may be recorded. The receptionist says so at the start of each call.
What if I smell gas, a CO alarm goes off, or something is sparking?
Leave the house first. For gas, call your gas utility or 911. For a CO alarm, call 911. For sparking or a burning smell, call 911. Don't flip switches or use the phone inside.
How often should I service my furnace and AC?
Once a year for each is common: the furnace in fall and the AC in spring. Change the filter every one to three months.
Do you work on all brands?
We don't do the work. Ask the company about your brand when you talk with them.
How much does a repair or new system cost?
It depends on the house and the equipment, so we don't list prices. Ask for a written quote with the model and warranty.
Are there rebates?
Webster City's electric utility, run by the city, lists rebates for air-source and geothermal heat pumps, ductless mini-split heat pumps, heat pump check-ups and insulation. Forms go to the Utility Office at City Hall. Check the current list before you buy. If Alliant Energy or MidAmerican Energy supplies your gas or electricity, ask your installer about their Instant Discounts program, which takes a discount off qualifying equipment at purchase through 2026.
Which towns does this guide cover?
Webster City and nearby Hamilton County towns, including Kamrar, Stratford, Jewell, Blairsburg and Williams.
